D Bar M Skeet started her hunting career with a good friend of mine Darrin Allegri. Darrin had lost his dog to cancer and wanted another pointing dog so he got ahold of Epps Kennels and Walt said I have a young dog that is the full sister to Bing’s dog Jill just a year younger. Walt had shown this pup to Bing but he didn’t take her. Darrin liked her and took her home. The next year Darrin’s priority’s changed and he offered Skeeter to Bing. I said I don’t have the money to buy her. Darrin said when I leave Western Nationals I am putting her in your kennel. I don’t have the time to run her, whenever you get the money you can send it to me. So Skeeter got a new home.
It didn’t take her long to learn the game and she especially like running doubles. She loved running from one player to the other. Skeeter wasn’t a speedster in the field she but when conditions where tough she found the birds. One such event was Worlds 2016 at Muddy Creek. We where cleaning fields between runs for the finals that year and we didn’t know how tough conditions where that day as nobody was giving up any information. Long story short she was having trouble locating a couple of the birds and bumped them but we shoot them anyway since we knew there was no extra birds. So we left the field with our heads hanging low. I went over and was helping in the Top Gun field cleaning birds out between runs and later in the day Garrity comes over and says congratulations. I say for what and he says for winning the Doubles. I said your messing with me no way we won the doubles we shot two bumped birds. He said you are the only one that found all your birds and stopped the clock!

It seems like every dog has a run that you will never forget and for Skeeter that was a doubles run at Pre-Worlds 2013 where everyone was struggling but not Skeeter she smoked a 4 bird doubles run in 2.50 minutes. That was a fun run!

Skeeter missed quite a few events as she was making puppies with Jack. To name a few of them that you might know Ace, Turbo, Maggie, Angel, Xena and Lilly. One of them Mark Moyles Maggie was the Top Gun National Champion in 2019.

Today, March 9,2023 Skeeter enters the BDC Hall of Fame as a Legendary Status Dog with 35 Championships, 709 career Champion points, 4 Super Major Championships and 1 Major Championship. Skeeter will always be remembered as my best doubles dog and a great mother.
