There are many characteristics, that when molded together correctly, are the make-up for a great hunting dog and an even better tournament hunting dog.

This Hall of Fame Gordon Setter / Red Setter, showed incredible potential as a puppy and I can remember her owner, Mike Peterson saying, “This dog is all heart.”

She saw thousands of birds by the time she was three years old, and her determination was obvious in every run she made. It didn’t matter if the conditions were 23 below zero at Big Rock, and her paws were clumped up with ice chunks, or it was 80 degrees in Iowa. She always gave her best.

It’s true, a “big heart” was her overwhelming trait. She also possessed an incredible bird finding sense, a great nose, and moved through the field with style and grace.
