Legendary Status Champion
38x Champion
4 Super Major Championships
2 Major Championships

The perfect name for one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet. One look into her eyes and she had your heart. A top notch hunter whether she was in the upland field or the duck blind, Emi could do it all. Emi accumulated 779 Champion points earning her BDC Legendary Status, she was a 38X Champion, winning 4 Super Majors and 2 Majors including the 2007 BDC World Doubles Championship, the 2006 Top Gun Championship as well as the Players Championship. A keen nose along with the ability to dissect a field, and a willingness to work for whoever was behind the gun were just a few of her great attributes. Whenever you stepped to the line with Emi chances were good that you would leave the field in the lead.

Emi’s greatest attribute was her big heart. There wasn’t a mean bone in her body. With a kennel full of proven dogs, Emi got run of the house when she wasn’t hunting, following in the footsteps of Ali and Tempe. She proved to be as loyal of a companion dog as any one could imagine. Her best buddy was Ken and Joan’s son, Jackson. Emi and Jackson were almost inseparable. Emi would follow Jackson everywhere, maybe because when he was little, Emi would scoop up any crumb Jackson dropped, and sometimes even get a free handout from Jackson. When Ken would call home from a tournament, Jackson’s first question would be “How’s my Emi and when is she coming home?” He didn’t care how his dad was or who was winning, he just wanted to know his how Emi was doing. Now that Emi has passed on, no one misses her more than Jackson.

Emi did more than her fair share to give back to the game as well. She whelped some of the most amazing pups the game has ever seen. They include Tikka and Dezi, who are the #1 and #2 all-time BDC flushing dogs, owned by Jerry Brost, and BDC National Champion Athena, owned by Dalton Pierce, along with many other outstanding hunting dogs. Emi is greatly missed, but her legacy lives on in the pups she produced, and more importantly the memories of her times simply hanging out with her best friend, Jackson.
