For those that know Labrador retriever lineage, it would be no surprise to anyone that if a pedigree included the likes of Lean Mac and Risky Raider, the possibilities were endless. Rob Ramer learned this early after he and this stocky little yellow fuzzhead with big feet came into each other’s lives. Ramer’s Instant “Cash” Machine was a once in a lifetime dog for Rob.
Getting an early start in tournament hunting, Cash won his first tournament at six months of age. Rob knew he had something special and so did everyone else. Not only did Cash excel early as a tournament hunting dog, he did well in other arenas. Cash began participating in AKC hunt tests skipping the Junior and Senior hunt test levels jumping right into Master testing. Passing 6 of 7 tests qualified Cash for the AKC Master Nationals. Unfortunately the BDC World Championships were scheduled the same time, otherwise, Cash would likely have a Master National plate to add to his numerous other accolades. In addition to the AKC, Cash participated in NAHRA hunt tests as well. Cash passed 16 hunt tests in a row earning him his Grandmaster Hunter title. These skill sets are an accomplishment in and of themselves. Things didn’t stop there. Cash won 11 Super Majors and 13 Majors. In fact, Cash won 5 Super Majors in a row winning the National Championships, World Championships, Players Championship, Classic, and the Invitational back-to-back. Of the 8 BDC Super Majors, Cash has won 7 of them and missing the 8th one by a very narrow margin.
Cash has sired some impressive pups as well that are talented in many ways and range from companion animals to Master Hunters, to BDC Legendary dogs, and Major & Super Major Champions. In addition to these remarkable dogs who live all over the map, Cash has sired two amazing dogs who are serving in Afghanistan with the United States Marines as bomb sniffing dogs protecting our troops.
It is safe to say that Cash is one of the finest Labrador Retrievers to compete in the National Bird Dog Circuit with an unmatched variety of talents. If you ask Rob what the black spots are on Cash’s tongue, he will tell you they are “smart spots”, and given his great successes, he is probably correct. His drive and desire to succeed is unparalleled. His consistency in all arenas is unrivaled, and his need to please is matchless. Cash enters the BDC Hall of Fame as the 3rd Ranked Lifetime Flushing Dog in the National Bird Dog Circuit with 2086 Champion Points and holds Legendary Status. He was the 2007 Flushing Dog of the Year and the 2010 Flushing Road Warrior Recipient. He has 11 Super Major wins, and 13 Major wins. It is extremely rare to have a dog that has achieved this pinnacle of success in so many disciplines. Rob has had the honor to train, compete with, and own this rare and special dog. A legend in the game, Cash will always be remembered.
