How lucky am I to have such a spectacular hunting companion? Nothing can describe the feeling when I watch this amazing animal do what he loves to do. Ruger has been more than I could have ever asked for. I had no idea what was in store for me when I bought home this 12–week–old pup. When I took him out hunting the first time and he wondered off and found his first bird, it was then I knew I had something very special. From that moment on, he continued to amaze me every time I hunted or competed with him. Ruger’s bird drive was so strong and his excitement to get into the field that he always carried on at the line and could not help himself and would take off and often would run a field backwards making me keep up with him while he found his last bird first and worked his field from back to front. He is the complete package with an incredible nose and the ability to run full speed ahead, stop on a dime and snap a point. He has been a joy to hunt behind and I am so thankful to have been his partner.

Today, March 9, 2023 Ruger enters the BDC Hall of Fame as a Legendary Status Dog with 75 Championships, 1514 career Champion points, 7 Super Major Championships and 12 Major Championships. Ruger is now a full time house pup and loves every minute of lounging on the couch and sleeping on the bed.
